Lorna Shore Singer Sounds Like Gollum on Deathcore Band’s Song

Lorna Shore’s Will Ramos’ Ragged Screams Reminiscent of the Hoarse the Lord of the Rings the villainous Gollum — or Smeagol, as the fictional creature was also known — in part of the deathcore band’s latest single, “Into the Earth.”

The brutal song was released on Wednesday, June 22. It follows Lorna Shore’s equally monstrous “Sun//Eater”, released last month, which is the first single from The pain remains, Lorna Shore’s fourth studio album. The full LP arrives in October, and “Into the Earth” gives further indication of the band’s direction on the effort.

Listen to the new track at the bottom of this article and hear Gollum’s vocals around 4:25.

Finding out the meaning of the song, Lorna Shore says, “‘Into the Earth’ is about the initial fear and acceptance of the subconscious while falling into a lucid dream state.”

An official music video for “Into the Earth” arrives Wednesday at 12 p.m. ET. Look at it below the lyrics of the song and the track itself. Below, see how Ramos learned to scream.

Lorna Shore, “Into the Earth” Lyrics

The feeling leaves as I drift slowly
Illusions torn from my burst veins
Reality changes like pages turning in the wind
I will become the sun
I will become a god
I will become the dreamer
Dreaming, frozen, in my anxious mind
The feeling slowly fades into plasticity
Is this the end or just the beginning
Lucidity or unfolding nightmare

My heart, my soul
My body has become so cold
Converge, I crash to Earth

Lost in the terrified landscape
Free me from this nightmare
Smothered by uncertain realms
i can’t escape
Let me go, I’m fucking horrified
Now all my fears are personified

Numbed by the call of a broken idol
Descent of the spirit, loss of contact

Hallucinations of familiar sensations
Wrap me in drunkenness
The continuation of a world
Without reins bound to destruction
In this feverish dream
I will have forgotten

To release myself
Vivid this world falls in my offspring
Realize this world is just a projection of my mind
