Marching Band Music in the Air at ENMU’s Green and Silver Classic

New Mexico Schools Portales, Roswell, Lovington, Roswell Goddard, and Hobbs, and Texas Schools Friona, Farwell, Brownfield, and Levelland joined ENMU Greyhound Sound on the field in an all-day celebration of marching band music .

PORTALES, NM – October 6, 2021 – The Eastern New Mexico University Music Department celebrated the return of the Green and Silver Classic Marching Band Festival on Tuesday, October 5, with bands from 10 high schools across the eastern New Mexico and western Texas. and competing at Greyhound Stadium.

New Mexico Schools Portales, Roswell, Lovington, Roswell Goddard, and Hobbs, and Texas Schools Friona, Farwell, Brownfield, and Levelland joined ENMU Greyhound Sound on the field in an all-day celebration of marching band music .

“This festival has been extremely successful,” said ENMU Bands Manager Dustin Seifert. “I was very touched by the joy evident within the community gathered at Greyhound Stadium. I am grateful that ENMU can play such an important role in the re-emergence of public music.”

Friona, Farwell, Brownfield, Levelland, Goddard, Roswell, Lovington, Hobbs and Clovis have all won Excellence Awards. Farwell won Best in Class for 1A/2A, while Goddard was named Best in Class for 4A/5A. Clovis won Best Musical Performance, Best Marching Performance, and Best Overall Effect and was named Best of Class 5A and Best Overall Group.
