It’s a musical treat this weekend at the Sound Bites Grill as two fabulous tours take to the stage.
On Friday, October 29, from 7-10 p.m., accomplished performer and national touring artist Michael Johnson and the Denim Brigade will rock the night away, featuring local musicians Patrick Ki on guitar, Adriel Zang-Perrault on percussion and Marcus Vann on bass.
This folk-rock ensemble of talented professional artists will take you on a magic carpet through classics by James Taylor, Paul Simon, Kenny Logins and many more, flavored by their unique and inimitable style.
Johnson is a Berklee-trained musician and touring artist based in Las Vegas. He has performed with many national symphonies and in pop and rock concerts, including shows with Cheap Trick and other famous artists. He is also a composer and recording artist and is currently finishing his new album, “Exploring the Open”.
Vann has toured internationally and performed with several international artists including Paul Shaffer (Late Night with David Letterman) and The Righteous Brothers. His bass control is impressive, and he keeps it deep and funky.
Ki is a longtime Sedona-based musician and guitar and ukulele virtuoso. Educated at the Berklee School of Music and the Musician’s Institute, two of the top guitar schools in the country, Ki is a longtime local star in the Sedona music scene.
Zang-Perrault is a drummer, songwriter, producer and vocalist based in Sedona, Arizona. He graduated from the NSAA in 2008 and has been making music ever since.
On Saturday, October 30, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., the Daring Greatly Band will rock the Sound Bites Celebrity Room stage.
This Canadian-based group, centered on a father, his two sons and two friends, offers a very charged and energetic performance punctuated by moving lyrics, impeccable musicality and beautiful harmonies.
Audiences around the world have been blown away by their lively shows that combine 1960s and 70s folk/Americana traditions with deep, introspective messages about love, courage, vulnerability and personal freedom.
They express through their music core values for leading a life that serves a purpose greater than oneself. The band includes Dail Croome on vocals and bass; Patrick Croome on vocals and guitar; Liam Croome on vocals and keyboard; Braydon Tario on drums and vocals; and David Mills on guitar and steel peddle.
Both shows are ticketed events, so call 928-282-2713 to purchase tickets and make advance reservations.
