A new official video for the 1970 classic Splashback Clearwater Revival smash hit “Travelin’ Band” just debuted on Craft Recordings’ official label Youtube channel in advance of the limited edition vinyl single featuring an unreleased live version of the song to be released as part of the Record Store Day event on June 18.

The video features rare footage of CCR touring in 1969 and 1970 on and off stage at various international venues.

As previously reported, the vinyl record will feature live renditions of “Travelin’ Band” and “Who’ll Stop the Rain” on sides A and B, respectively, and will be available at participating record stores on June 18.

The “Travelin’ Band” version was recorded on April 14, 1970 at the famous Royal Albert Hall in London. The rendition of “Who’ll Stop the Rain” was recorded on January 31, 1970 at the Oakland Coliseum in California, and previously appeared on CCR’s live album The Concert, released in 1980.

Only 9,000 copies of the vinyl single will be pressed. The packaging reproduces the cover of the double-sided single Creedence Clearwater Revival released in January 1970 along with the studio versions of “Travelin’ Band” and “Who’ll Stop the Rain”. The tracks peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100, and both tracks were also included on CCR’s 1970 studio album Cosmo’s Factory.

The “Travelin’ Band” video follows the recent announcement that a new CCR documentary film and concert entitled Travelin’ Band: Creedence Clearwater Revival at the Royal Albert Hall is in production. The film, which focuses on the band’s aforementioned gig in April 1970 at the historic London venue, is narrated by the Oscar-winning actor and Creedence fan Jeff Bridgesand directed by Grammy-winning filmmaker Bob Smeaton.
