With the unpredictable Guardians at your side, fight your way from one explosive situation to another, with original and well-known Marvel characters caught in a struggle for the fate of the universe. You have this. Probably.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is created by the seasoned team at Eidos-Montreal, working closely with Marvel Entertainment to deliver an original and authentic experience inspired by over 50 years of Guardians of the Galaxy history. Influenced by the comics, this spin on Guardians of the Galaxy takes players on a tumultuous journey across the stars as Peter Quill and the Guardians unwittingly become the galaxy’s first and last line of defense.
In the game universe, Star-Lord started the Guardians to sell their services as heroes for hire, and convinced Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot to join him along the way. The promise of adventure and profit was exactly what they were looking for. They even have a business card to prove it!!
Eidos-Montreal released a shameless new ’80s music video to celebrate the official release of “Zero to Hero,” the face-melting second single from Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Star-Lord Band. The group’s two singles are also on the official list Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Original video game playlist, which was also released today.
Inspired by classic ’80s cartoons, the animated music video kicks the nostalgia factor to 11 and gives viewers a glimpse into why superfan Peter Quill was inspired to adopt the ‘Star-Lord’ moniker. in the universe of the game. But that’s not all! Eidos-Montreal also released a vintage VHS recording of the Star-Lord Band performing the single on stage in all its long-haired glory, and combined it with the animated music video to create an extended cut.

Created specifically for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, the Star-Lord group full album will be released on its own with the game when it launches on October 26.
At the start of the game, they set off a chain reaction of catastrophic events, which will eventually put the fate of the universe on the line. Obviously, preventing intergalactic annihilation was never part of the plan. But they (and you) get it. Probably.
Master Star-Lord’s dynamic fighting style to obliterate foes with his Element Blasters and call upon the abilities of each Guardian to defeat a variety of interplanetary foes. Additionally, as the self-proclaimed leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy, players engage in select dialogue and interactions between Quill and the Guardians that further strengthen the bonds within this dysfunctional family.
With Rocket, Groot, Gamora and Drax always around, you can expect lots of laughs and touching moments – our writing team had a blast. But in the true spirit of Guardians, we also wanted to capture what it’s like to become a family for a ragtag group of misfits. Having these personalities collide and fight and come together…there will be real drama too.
But even when the odds are stacked against them, the Guardians never back down.
Finally, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy wouldn’t be complete without a killer soundtrack for rocking while soaring through space in the Milano. There’s Iron Maiden, KISS, New Kids On The Block, Rick Astley and more. But it doesn’t stop there and Square Enix/Eidos-Montreal will soon have more to say about the music in our game! The game is packed with classic 1980s hits and original tunes.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy will launch on Nintendo Switch (Cloud Edition) PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC on October 26, 2021.
