Set of flowers for annual Christmas celebration

There’s a pre-Christmas treat at the Bacon Theater in Cheltenham on Sunday afternoons at 3pm, which is sure to give you a festive feeling.

Join the Flowers Band and their guests, the Beauregard Youth Choir, as they return to the theater for their annual Christmas celebration of seasonal favourites, Christmas film music and Christmas carols for all.

Flowers Band, based at the Gloucester Academy of Music, was formed in 1968 following the disbanding of the Royal Gloucester Hussars (Territorial Army) Brass Band.

After negotiation with the Ministry of Defence, the instruments were purchased and most of the former RGH musicians, together with other local musicians, formed the City of Gloucester Band.

Sponsored by Flowers Brewery until 1998, the group kept the name and continued to flourish in all major competitions, ranking number one in the West of England and, at press time, 7th in the world.

Under the guidance of Paul Holland, Flowers scored victories at the Grand Shield, Roland Garros, five Butlins Mineworkers Championships victories, a hat-trick of victories at Yeovil, seven regional titles as well as their best results at the national championships, British Open and Brass in Concert Championships.

Tickets cost £14.00 (£10.00) and are available at
