“Beyond The Frame” encapsulates Sunstinger’s ability to craft a stellar collection of tracks that capture the beauty of their songwriting.

Combining cinematic sonic worlds with spaced-out vocals, the forthcoming EP showcases the excellence of Taylor Wright, Scott Gourlay, Bill Anderson and Nick Hernandez.

Written and recorded for three days in the substation with Magnus Collie (The Jesus and Mary Chain, Skids, Homes) at the end of 2020, Taylor Wright spoke about the process of creating the EP.

He said: “It was put together very quickly. We walked into the studio with about 50% lyrics and no guitar parts. In fact, we wrote “All My Friends Are High” in rehearsal the night before and Scott, our guitarist, hadn’t even heard it until he arrived at the studio the next day.

“For some reason the process worked for us. We experimented with a lot of different guitar sounds because we wanted it to sound as loud as possible. We left no room in the songs and Magnus played a part important in this too.”

Exploring the EP more deeply, Taylor explains how this project encapsulates everything Sunstinger stands for: “It’s the sound we’ve been looking for for the past few years. If it was 10 years ago, everything before that would have been a learning process towards this EP.

“We grafted hard and it’s good to have something to show, it means a lot to us but it still feels like it’s just the beginning. We’re still one of the newer bands here, we still have something to prove.
