Mike Hall, lead singer of Classic Clapton.

The show starts at 7:30 p.m.

The group was formed in Newcastle in 1985 and was originally called ‘After Midnight’ after Clapton’s first solo hit.

In guitarist/vocalist Mike Hall, the band has a leader who not only looks like Eric, but sings and plays guitar like him too.

Mike met Slowhand twice and received a message of encouragement from the guitar maestro.

In 2001 they embarked on their first major tour of UK theatres.

They continued to perform across the UK and Ireland, including concerts at the Royal Festival Hall in London and a triumphant appearance at the Glastonbury Festival in 2002.

They performed many concerts in Europe, including Spain, Estonia, the Netherlands and France, in front of 3,500 people in an open-air arena in Mumbai.

Classic Clapton features Mike Hall (lead vocals/guitar), Danny Davison (drums), Dave Robson (bass guitar/backing vocals) and Steve Hutchinson (keyboard/backing vocals).

Steve was a member of Animals 2 for six years in the 1990s alongside original members Hilton Valentine and John Steel.

Classic Clapton has released three albums. First, ‘The Music of Eric Clapton’ contains covers of 17 Clapton classics.
