The Hillman Band set to play Thursday’s Tigers Game – WBKB 11

ALPENA, Mich. — The Hillman Band has been training since January for their performance this Thursday at the Tigers Game.

Band teacher Ben Witter is extremely excited for the band to perform and said, “I really appreciate the support from the community, administration and staff at my school to support us in this endeavor and giving money and time to make this happen for our students is really special.

Group member Agnese worked hard and said: “Honestly it’s just to make memories with all of us, we’ve worked so hard as a team so it’s really great to make those memories at the tigers game and playing it, we will all have a story to tell later in life.

The group will perform the national anthem and they are all extremely excited. Band member Ava trained every day and said, “Probably the memories and the experience, because it’s a unique experience to have.”

The group trains every day and perfects its music.

“We definitely got a second chance because COVID took our last one away from us,” said fellow band member Hailee. “We have been invited back and I think we are playing better than ever.”

The group will have the opportunity to show the world all the hard work and dedication they have had this Thursday.
